Our Story

Learning should never feel late.

Only discovered — at the child’s own pace. That belief is why Brainstruct exists.

Brainstruct started the way a lot of good things do — with a problem one family couldn’t solve any other way. When their son’s words came slowly, Courtney — a mother, and a clinician — wasn’t willing to wait. Peter, who’d spent his own childhood catching up, knew exactly what was at stake. What they built for their son at the kitchen table became Brainstruct.

It started with a mother’s instinct.

Their son Asher had reached the age when words usually arrive — and his were coming slowly. Courtney noticed early: as his mother, who trusted her instincts, and as a clinician, who understood how people learn and heal. She took it seriously.

So she did what any parent would — she bought every learning game she could find, hoping one would reach him. None did. They were generic and disconnected, built for “kids,” never for this kid.

So she built the first one herself.

She stopped searching and started building — a small, playful set of activities for Asher, shaped around exactly how he took things in: color, sound, repetition.

One of them became ColorTap, the very first Brainstruct game — not born in a lab or a studio, but at the kitchen table. Her standard still shapes every game we make.

Peter knew what starting late cost.

He understood the stakes, because he’d lived them. Every Saturday morning as a boy, he sat at the family computer with a tutor and a world that felt endless — but it was only Saturdays. The other six days he was on his own, taking things apart, hungry to learn with no roadmap.

It wasn’t that he lacked interest. He just started late.

Years later, building a career in technology, he was still catching up on fundamentals he wished he’d met as a child. Early foundations change everything. Timing matters — he learned that the hard way.

One game became a whole world.

So when Courtney built ColorTap for Asher, Peter saw what it could become. His work in technology turned one game into a growing library — letters, shapes, numbers, feelings — each one meeting a child where they are.

Every game still traces back to their kitchen table: a mother who wouldn’t wait, and a father who knew what waiting costs.

What started as one laptop and one game.

Peter’s background in technology met Courtney’s clinical training and a mother’s determination — and Brainstruct grew from there.

It started with ColorTap, but quickly expanded. If children could learn colors this way, why not letters, shapes, numbers? Each skill built on the last. Each game adapted to the child. Each moment of screen time became meaningful.

What began as a few learning activities evolved into something far greater: a full learning ecosystem that adapts to each child’s developmental stage — where games grow with the child, introducing new concepts through curiosity and play, not rigid curriculum.

Beyond the screen

It was never about the device.

That was the lesson underneath all of it — the one Courtney knew by training and Peter found the hard way: what mattered was never the screen, but how it’s used. Which is exactly why Brainstruct didn’t stay on the screen.

Today it lives in two places, one idea. The app is everyday play — a growing library of games in your pocket. The Build Box brings that same curated play off the tablet and onto the table: physical games and printables for little hands, matched to each age. Learning that follows the child, not the device.

What Brainstruct gives you now.

Play they love. Learning they’ll keep.

  • A kid who asks to play

Games they genuinely love — and learn from without ever noticing.

  • Play that fits, then grows

It meets your child where they are and moves with them, stage by stage.

  • You see what's landing

A real sense of their progress, without hovering over their shoulder.

  • On screen and off

The app for daily play, the Build Box for hands-on play at the table.

  • Built by parents, run like it

Honest pricing, cancel in a tap. No ads. No traps. Ever.

  • Made by educators and parents

A real family behind it — not a faceless brand, not a content farm.

Why this matters.

Every moment Courtney watched Asher find his words through play was proof that early, gentle help can change the story. And every Saturday Peter spent learning — every night he later spent catching up — was proof of what it costs when that help comes too late.

Their son — and the children learning through Brainstruct now — don’t have to walk that same uphill road. They can start early, grow naturally, and meet each new stage curious, confident, and ready. That isn’t just better education. It’s a better childhood.

A family lying together and smiling

The journey continues.

Every game they build traces back to the mother who built the bridge between curiosity and confidence, and the boy who loved computers and never wanted another child to start late.

This is why Brainstruct exists.

Not just to teach — but to make sure every child’s learning begins early, unfolds naturally, and feels joyful from the very first moment.
